What is trim?

Trim is a ribbon or fabric that adds a decorative finish to your pendant or lampshade. We offer over 20 to choose from.

Do I really need trim?

Because we hand-finish each lampshade for a neat and clean look, trim is not required, although many customers like to use it as an accent color for the shade. All of our made-to-order pendants and lampshades are inspected in our factory at several stages to ensure 100% neat and clean edges.

On our wood veneer lights, our wood projects 1/8th of an inch beyond the top and bottom rings of the shade, so all that you see is clean, clear wood -- no harsh-looking tape or other binding materials.

Can I add my own trim later?

You can, yes, but it will void the warranty on your shades as we cannot guarantee the quality if they have been altered.

Can I have different trim at the top of the shade than at the bottom?

For simplicity, by default we use the same trim at both the top and bottom of the shade.  If you have a special request, please contact us through our support center and we will be happy to accommodate you.
