Stem-hung pendants are more formal and elegant, and come in several fashionable finishes to work with your decor.
We provide 3 feet (36 inches) of stem on a standard configuration, which can be cut to a shorter length at the time of installation (an electrician has stem cutters). The shortest you can cut a standard stem is 3 inches, to allow for ventilation of the fixture.
Our new adjustable satin nickel stems are available on most orders, and offer greater flexibility in installation. Segments thread into one another for an easy installation.
15-inch Adjustable Silver Stem:
This option is designed for positioning your fixture close to the ceiling or over a kitchen counter or bar.

36-inch Adjustable Silver Stem:
This is our standard stem length, perfect for most dining rooms. If your ceiling is 8 feet high, the 24-inch segment will position the bottom of the shade at an ideal height over your dining table. If your ceiling is 9 feet high, add the 12-inch and 24-inch segments together. If your ceiling is 10 or more feet, consider the 51-inch Adjustable Silver Stem.

51-inch Adjustable Silver Stem:
The deluxe model gives you the ultimate flexibility in installing your fixture at the perfect height. It has been optimized to cover nearly every installation for ceilings 8 to 10 feet tall.

Black, white and bronze stems should be no shorter than 3 inches to allow for ventilation of the fixture. The adjustable Satin Nickel Stems should not be cut at all, because the pieces thread into each other. For the shortest satin nickel stem, please order the 15-inch adjustable stem kit, which includes a 3-inch stem piece.
If you need 50 pieces or more, you can special order a longer length (lead time will be 6 weeks). Please inquire with your special length request.
You cannot hang our stem-hung styles on vaulted or angled ceilings at this time.
Some customers need to pull the pendant over to one side from where it exits from the ceiling canopy. You cannot do this with a stem-hung style. You will need to choose one of the "cord and canopy" options instead.
You cannot install our stem-hung styles on a track system. You will need to choose one of the "cord and canopy" options instead, and you will also need track adapters from your track manufacturer.
